With decorative trim, towers and turrets, the Quee With decorative trim, towers and turrets, the Queen Anne architectural style has been called a collision of volumes and elaborate features. The emergence of these Victorian homes in Palo Alto can be linked with the opening of Stanford University in 1891, which brought many young professors from the east and Midwest who chose to buy their own lots rather than lease campus land.

For more than two decades, the Palo Alto Weekly an For more than two decades, the Palo Alto Weekly and Palo Alto Art Center have teamed up to bring exposure to images taken by budding and professional photographers of all ages through the annual photo contest, which includes entries from anyone who works, lives or attends school in the 650 area code, from Daly City to Sunnyvale.

Eataly Silicon Valley has a rooftop restaurant and a store carrying over 10,000 traditional Italian food products. With such a large selection of items, it can be a difficult place to navigate. He wanted guests to forget images of steam-table buffets, and winning a Michelin star at his South Indian Burlingame restaurant Rasa in 2016 should have authoritatively proven his success. The shrapnel and explosions from the Boston Marath The shrapnel and explosions from the Boston Marathon news footage still felt fresh when Kelly Gahagan, Naomi Gutierrez Cook and Kristi Nemes met with their families for a run in the south end of Pacifica on April 17, 2013. Swimming with the collective grief of the tragedy that killed three spectators and injured over 200 others just two days earlier, the self-dubbed “Amigos run for Boston in Pacifica” hit the sand on a 1 mile out-and-back stretch. The mothers chatted about how they longed for a local group that would inspire runners and their families to race and felt like a community. Nearly a decade later, @pacificarunners has created community on the Coastside through its all-levels-welcome approach. Click the link in our bio to read the story.

Executive producer of an upcoming Netflix series based on her book. A shoutout from Steph Curry, who featured her novel in his book club. Regardless, like her seemingly successful cast of Asian American art bandits, Li finds that the honorifics aren’t all that fulfilling.

@katrynsy, a Foster City native and current reside @katrynsy, a Foster City native and current resident who works as a software engineer at @linkedin in Mountain View, is part of the skateboarding collective @unityskateboarding, which aims to make skateboarding more accessible for the LGBTQ community and has a skate team associated with it. Sy’s experiences as a queer Asian American female skateboarder are being highlighted in a short film being shown at the Center for Asian American Media’s 40th CAAMFest, which runs through May 22. “Crashing Wheels on Concrete,” by filmmaker So Young Shelly Yo, follows the ups and downs of Sy’s life through her love of skateboarding as she graduates from college and takes on the challenges of adulthood.
